What I’m Listening To

Growing up in Britain, reggae was always part of the air I breathed: sound systems, dances, community, that pulse everywhere. Gregory Isaacs belonged to that foundation alongside artists like Dennis Brown, John Holt, Sugar Minott, and Bob Marley.

Gregory had a voice you recognised straight away: smooth, unhurried, and full of feeling. Songs like ‘Night Nurse,’ ‘Soon Forward,’ and ‘My Only Lover’ capture that unmistakable sound—tenderness, longing, that quiet strength.

Enjoy this Gregory Isaacs selection—a little of the music I grew up with, and an introduction to the sounds that still mean something to me.
