The Strength of Delicacy
From Jabbi Delahaye’s print collection.
Enlarge image ↗A butterfly rests on a curved blade of grass, its wings in shades of violet, blue and green, fine veins tracing their structure. Soft light gathers in the background. The slender perch gives the composition a sense of balance: a small life held within a much larger world.
The image invites us to look closely at what we might otherwise pass by. In the wings, beauty and structure are inseparable. Their delicate form depends on that precision. As with the butterfly’s brief rest, resilience here isn’t separate from fragility; it grows through it.
The butterfly also carries the possibility of transformation. Here, that familiar association finds a quieter expression in a moment of rest, allowing us to consider the pauses that belong within any journey.
The Strength of Delicacy asks us to recognise resilience on an intimate scale, and to give small wonders the attention they deserve.
